Workplace

The Manager is committed to being an 'Employer of Choice' by providing a balanced work environment, promoting health and wellness, employer engagement, talent management and continual development.

We recognise that people are our core assets and have put in place a talent management programme to attract, retain and groom employees. Besides a strong focus on training and skills upgrading, our policies also encourage diversity and open communication.

Health and Wellness

The Manager facilitates team building events within its health and wellness program by providing weekly sporting activities ranging from tennis, zumba, yoga and various sporting activities where all members participate.

Physical wellness and mental well-being is further promoted with presentations conducted by professionals on health and diet, free health screening and flexible work benefits, resulting in increased productivity within the workplace, with a reduction of 29.0% in medical leave taken in 2012 as compared to that in 2011.

Talent management and continual improvement

The Manager continually strives to develop talent along with succession planning. In 2012, employees attended over 1,500 training hours within the year. In addtion to the Annual Training hours design for all employees, we have also launch a management and leadership training programme, divided into two phases, namely "The Next Step" and "Stepping Forward" where continuous management training is conducted and enforced.

Employment satisfaction surveys are conducted on an annual basis to ensure the Management is striving to meet the changing needs of its employees.

Occupational Health and Safety and workplace environment

The Manager has a responsibility to ensure the occupational health and safety of all employees and monitors the activities of its operational sites to the best of its ability to provide a safe working environment.

We have adopted an Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Management System which was certified in 2011 to OHSAS 18001:2007 international standards. The objective of our OHS is to enhance awareness and implement health and safety standards at all CIT sites, which are consistent with best market practices.

The Manager is committed to environmental stewardship, through the implementation of initiatives such as recycling programmes, energy-saving practices. In the office, we have introduced eco-friendly products including using recycled materials for Company stationery, and for our recent Annual Reports, we used Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certified fully recycled paper. FSC is an independent, non-governmental, not-for-profit organisation established to promote the responsible management of world forests. Besides using eco-friendly products, we also have a programme in place to recycle paper, plastics and cans. In addition, we regularly educate our employees on how they can adopt more environmentally friendly lifestyles.
